This post started its life as an Instagram post, but I’d like it to have a home here on our blog too. The post below is pretty much the same as my original IG post, with only a few minor changes.
TURN, TURN, TURN…
“To everything (turn, turn, turn)
There is a season (turn, turn, turn)
And a time to every purpose under heaven”
The three images below, taken on a sunny Saturday in September, all depict something which is on the cusp of turning into something else…
1. Our boy on the playground, getting too big for most climbing frames. He’s growing up and starting to transition from boy to man, but in many ways he’s very much still a child. (This is on my mind a lot these days.)
Turn, turn, turn…
2. The woods were warm and sprinkled with sunshine, and still mostly green in colour. But there was a scent of autumn in the air, as well as leaves on the ground, and hints of yellow here and there, signaling the shift from summer to autumn.
Turn, turn, turn…
3. Are September sunsets the most beautiful? I seem to find myself getting stuck looking out the window more frequently lately, and it’s often due to the beautiful evening light. The sun kissing the horizon, making the sky blush. The day gently turning into night.
Turn, turn, turn…
Some days seem to be filled with reminders that everything changes, the world keeps turning, and time waits for no one x

PS. The song ‘Turn! Turn! Turn!’ was made famous by The Byrds, but was written and first recorded by Pete Seeger (in 1959). The lyrics are taken from the first eight verses of the third chapter of the biblical Book of Ecclesiastes (thanks to Wikipedia for that info).
